Time to strut your stuff!
AIGA | New Orleans would first like to extend our greatest excitement for your commitment to expanding your education and taking advantage of this wonderful opprtunity. Our Annual Student Portfolio Review is one of our most successful events of the year, and we strive to round up the most talented working professionals in our industry, to provide our student chapter members with a vital component in their growth – mentorship from creatives with real world experience and professional expertise.
Instructions
We have outlined a short few instructions for making everyone's review experiences as comfortable and convenient as possible:
- • CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE REVIEW SCHEDULE.
There will be a larger copy of the review schedule on Saturday for students to reserve empty spots and obtain extra reviews.
- • You are not allowed under any circumstances to steal another student's review slot unless that they have had their spot cleared. If you are caught doing so, you will be asked to leave for the remainder of the event and forfeit any remaining slots.
- • Parking is free and is located on West Blvd, off of St. Charles Avenue.
You can download a map of the Loyola Campus here. Directional signage will be posted from the parking garage leading you to the Saint Charles room in the Danna Center, where we are holding the event.
- • Registration for the Portfolio Review is from 8:00-8:45. We expect the reviewers to be arriving throughout the course of this registration as well, so please plan accordingly. Reviews begins promptly at 9:15am after a short introduction and welcome. Please make sure all bathroom breaks are taken in advance; the reviewing time is hectic and goes by fast. - • During breakfast, AIGA Loyola, our benevolent student group hosts, will host a bake sale with beautiful handcrafted pastries provided by Chef Dawn Snead of Shake Sugaree. Please bring cash if have not had the opportunity to eat.
- • Refreshments for lunch will be provided, but there is also a small coffee shop and concessions located on campus if you would like intermittent snacks or soft drinks. Coffee, milk, and orange juice will also be provided for breakfast.
- • And if you don’t mind, when tweeting about the event, please use the hashtag #aigaportfolioreview.
- • Photos are normally taken during the course of the event. Please be aware that your photo may appear in future promotions for the Student Portfolio events.
- • Please be gracious to your reviewers, keep an open mind, and remain professional during reviews. The reviewers who offer you feedback and critique have only your best intentions at heart, and are participating in this event for your benefit without compensation.
- • Business cards are encouraged, please feel free to bring them for networking.
All proceeds made during the course of the Portfolio Review go towards making this event annual and available to future AIGA student members.
