AIGA

AIGA | New Orleans would first like to extend our greatest appreciation and gratitude for your commitment to design education and student feedback. Our Annual Student Portfolio Review is one of our most successful events, and without each of you, we could not give our student chapters a vital component in their growth – mentorship from creatives with real world experience and professional expertise.

Instructions

We have outlined a short few suggestions and instructions for making your volunteer experience as comfortable and convenient as possible:

  • • Parking is free and is located on West Blvd, off of St. Charles Avenue.
You can download a map of the Loyola Campus here. Directional signage will be posted from the parking garage leading you to the Danna Center, where we are holding the event.

  • • Registration for the Portfolio Review is from 8:00-8:45. We expect the students to be arriving throughout the course of this registration as well, so please plan accordingly. Reviewing begins promptly at 9:15am after a short introduction and welcome. Please make sure all bathroom breaks are taken in advance; the reviewing time is hectic and goes by fast.

  • • During breakfast, AIGA Loyola, our benevolent student group hosts, will host a bake sale with beautiful handcrafted pasties provided by Chef Dawn Snead of Shake Sugaree.

  • • Refreshments for lunch will be provided, but there is also a small coffee shop and concessions located on campus if you would like intermittent snacks or soft drinks.

  • • Volunteers will be on hand to assist you with any needs such as bringing you water and making sure you are comfortable.

  • • And if you don’t mind, when tweeting about the event, please use the hashtag #aigaportfolioreview.

  • • Photos are normally taken during the course of the event. Please be aware that your photo may appear in future promotions for the Student Portfolio events.

  • • Please be courteous to the students and remain professional during reviews.

  • • Business cards are encouraged, please feel free to bring them for networking.

All proceeds made during the course of the Portfolio Review go towards making this event annual and available to the students. A copy of the reviews schedule is available for download here. One will also be present at your station for use during the event.

Again, we thank you for your tremendous help in making the 2011 Student Portfolio Review a success.
